内容説明

Annexins are a family of eukaryotic proteins that have been implicated in a wide range of cellular processes, many involving membranes and cytoskeletal elements. Some annexins have anticoagulant, anti-inflammatory, and/or ion regulating activities and may play roles in membrane trafficking. The calcium-dependent binding of annexins to membranes has received much attention, and these proteins currently offer a detailed model of membrane binding by proteins. In this volume, crystallographic and other high-resolution structural data are integrated into issues related to annexin function, while the overall focus is on research with a more cellular emphasis. The book's goal is to present recent data from both structural and functional perspectives in this rapidly growing field.
