内容説明

Sean Scully's large-scale convases are an important contribution to contemporary abstract art. Born in Dublin in 1945, Scully trained in England before moving to the United States in 1975. Published to accompany a touring exhibition organized by the High Museum of Art, Atlanta, to be shown in the Irish Museum of Modern Art in 1996, this survey traces the evolution of Scully's art. It examines the various influences on his work and illustrates a selection of his paintings. Essays by international critics and curators focus on the artist's evolving vision and accomplishments. An interview with Scully, provides insight into his working methods and motivations.
