内容説明
Each volume in this series is a collection of articles in the study of transport history, selected from a leading journal in the field. Each contains articles selected by a distinguished scholar, as well as an authorative introduction by the volume editor. Individually they form a foundation to the study of the history of a mode of transport; together they make a library of modern research in the field. This volume is concerned with canals and inland navigation with eleven articles on topics such as James Green as canal engineer; the canal boatmen's strike of 1923; Dutch inland transport in the 19th century; and the Swansea canal.
