Description and Table of Contents

Description

In order to make a contribution to maintaining the social dialogue and to provide the information required for directing the social policy of the European Union, social statistics must continually adjust to current developments. The second session of the Mondorf seminar, created with that objective in mind, examined three major issues: what degree of harmonization is desirable for European statistics?; how can Community surveys on households be structured and combined effectively?; and what can be expected of micro-simulation tools for evaluating the effects of social protection policies? This publication brings together the report of the seminar and the papers submitted to it.

Table of Contents

  • New challenges for social statistics - guidelines and strategies (report of the seminar)
  • summary of subsequent action and progres since Mondorf Papers submitted to the seminar.
