Description and Table of Contents

Description

In fields such as aeronautical, civil, mechanical and structural engineering, non-linear analysis techniques are being widely used for the solving of practical engineering problems. With this in mind the author has selected an engineering rather than a mathematical bias. This second volume builds on the fundamental ideas of geometric non-linearity explained in Volume One, introducing the reader to more detailed, advanced topics. Continuum mechanics, plasticity and stability theory are covered in greater depth as it explores the research on non-linear finite elements. To supplement the text a set of programmes are available on the Internet via anonymous FTP.
