Description
Total knee arthroplasty has seen some great improvements in prosthetic design and operative technique, with ongoing research and development in fixation, long-term radiological follow-up, biomechanical evaluation and biometerials research. In knee ligament reconstruction, there has been rapid progress in clinical practice and fundamental research by means of arthroscopic surgery and tissue transplantation. This volume comprises the proceedings of the International Symposium on Reconstruction of the Knee Joint held in Nagoya, Japan in March 1994. It presents reports of information and experience in knee ligament reconstruction and total knee arthroplasty, with topics that include: surgical technique; prosthetic design; post-operative management; and clinical evaluation.
