Description

Business driven or strategic human resource management is a term which reflects a growing belief that human resource management (HRM) should play a central role in the development of business strategies. Until recently HRM was generally associated with administrative functions such as the recruitment, discipline and reward of employees. This text shows how HRM can play a much more strategic role in the management of a company. It provides a comprehensive and integrated coverage of the subject which is linked both to practical experience and research. Four major case studies are included to provide examples of the application of different aspects of business driven HRM. There is also a selection of self audit questionnaires which help the reader compare their own organization's approach to what is recommended in the text.
