内容説明

The chiropractic health care profession has traditionally been much more sensitive and attuned to its history and evolution then other disciplines and professions. Examination of the historical foundations and principles of chiropractic is as much a part of a student's education as any basic or clinical science subject. This work reviews the foundations of chiropractic health care, from its origins in the late 18th century to its current status as a legitimate, accepted health care profession. Chapters on chiropractic philosophy, science and principles are included, as are the historical underpinnings of chiropractic ethics, education and practice. The book concludes with a chapter on the future of the profession in light of its historical evolution, its acceptance by the general public, and its continuing struggle for acceptance by the medical profession.
