内容説明
Every cell has developed mechanisms to respond to environmental changes and to adapt its growth and metabolism to the new conditions. This work focuses on the molecular mechanisms by which the model eukaryote yeast respond to stress. The lessons that can be learned from research on yeast for similar mechanisms operating in higher eukaryotes are discussed. Specific stress conditions covered in depth are heat, changes in osmolarity, salt stress, oxidative stress (including metal ions) as well as nutrient starvation, and the conditions leading to the entry into the stationary phase.
