Description
Presenting the proceedings of the Second International Conference on Factor XIII, this work is arranged into six sections. It starts with several contributions on biochemical research on the structure and function of the plasma factor XIII. The second section deals with properties of factor XIII concentrates for therapeutic substition, while the third section focuses on new improved factor XIII assays, a particularly important issue for the clinician. The fourth section presents new data on congenital factor XIII deficiency, from molecular biology to diagnosis and long-term treatment. Finally, the work addresses the clinical aspects of acquired factor XIII deficiency, eg in bleeding complications, and the role of factor XIII in wound healing.
