内容説明

This text examines ways in which social policy impinges on the daily lives and professional experiences of health and nursing professionals. It covers the role of the welfare state, the voluntary sector and voluntarism, informal care and the question of "need" as a relative concept. The book is part of an open learning series, designed for use either as support material or as an open learning resource for delivering part (or all) of modules and units of both pre-registration and post-basic problems. The series is suitable for use within courses leading to professional qualifications in health and social care, and courses leading to inclusion on professional registers of the United Kingdom Central Council for Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors.
