内容説明

This comprehensive handbook has been written for all professionals involved in the counselling and overall care of those who have AIDS or HIV infection or are at risk. Chapters deal with counselling in specific settings, and with particular groups of people, pregnant women, the families of infected children, haemophiliacs, injecting drug users, those with neuropsychological problems and gay men. The book also covers particular skills the counsellor needs to deal with anxiety, depression and obsessional states, death and bereavement, problem-solving approaches and reducing stress. Organizational, legal, ethical and training aspects of the work are also covered.
