内容説明
This is a collection of the papers presented at the 3rd International Conference on Water and Waste Water Management, organized and sponsored by BHR Group Limited, and held in Harrogate on 13-15 November 1995. The papers examine the considerable changes that are currently affecting the water industry. Within the industry, the focus is split between those organizations seeking to improve performance through the introduction of novel processes and automation in potable water, and others whose primary targets are the improvements in treatment and minimization of waste water. Across all aspects, the industry is driven by the need to reduce costs and to comply with legislative requirements.
目次
- Advanced treatment: semiconductor photocatalysis - the removal of bromate from potable water
- optimization of clarifier performance for pesticide removal
- biological iron removal at Anglian Water's 27 ML/D West Pinchbeck water supply source
- design of an optimized water treatment plant, in particular sludge extraction, by means of a pilot study
- the effects of artificial destratification at Hanningfield Reservoir during the summer of 1994. Waste water treatment: air versus oxygen - fact versus fiction
- first applications of the MBBR (Moving Bed Bioreactor) process in the UK
- model for the prediction of the liquid volumetric flow rates in large scale high recirculation airlift reactors
- the removal of dissolved and dispersed hydrocarbons from contaminated waters
- the use of talc for the control of sludge bulking and the enhancement of performance in activated sludge plants. Economics: leakage detection in a large water company
- availability assessment of pesticide removal plant - a comparison of tenders
- industrial water treatment - evaluation of lifetime costs? Modelling: improved measurement and control philosphies for water treatment plant using artificial nearal networks
- water treatment works process modelling. Disinfection: comparison of the stirred tanks in series model with predicted residence time distributions for a CCT with difference baffling arrangements
- risk analysis of the potable water disinfection process - perspectives and models
- a CFD model of an ozone contact tank. Preliminary treatment/sludge: the Eurofilter - a revolution in waste water screening
- composting waste water sludges without the addition of bulking agents.
