内容説明

The aim of this book is to give an integration of knowledge on the epidemiology of the major dementing disorders. Until recently the epidemiological study of Alzheimers disease and related disorders was largely confined to Britain and the Scandanavian countries, primarily because the populations of these countries have some of the highest numbers of aged in the world. Other developed countries have rapidly ageing populations and are consequently investing more effort towards an understanding of the major dementing disorders. Research is emerging on dementing disorders from countries outside Western Europe and North America, which is important because epidemiological findings from Western Europe and North America may not be suitable for extrapolation to the rest of the world.
