For engineers and managers interested in learning more about the electric power environment that computers operate in and how to harden them against voltage sags and short power interruptions; the leading causes for shutdown. You will learn how to take the sensitive out of the phrase sensitive electronic equipment. Publications such as the IEEE Emerald Book along with FIPS Publication 94 explain what happens to sensitive electronic equipment following power quality variations and what to do about it. What they do not cover is an explanation of WHY the equipment reacts as it does. This is a common failing of power quality courses offered today, but not with this course.
