'Paediatric Oncology' presents a succinct but detailed up-to-date overview of the most important aspects of managing children with cancer. The new edition of this highly successful book has been completely revised and updated, whilst the original team of experts has been expanded by the addition of new contributors reflecting the recent changes that have taken place. Individual malignancies are given comprehensive coverage, including details of clinical presentation, diagnostic investigations, new imaging techniques and current management with chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery. Clinical chapters conclude with a section devoted to current controversies relating to diagnosis and management. Changes to the new edition include a chapter devoted to the use of radiotherapy in paediatric practice, a consideration of ethical aspects of clinical trials in children and an expanded appendix giving algorithms for the managment of therapeutic complications. The book retains its `European' flavour, but incorporates information from a number of American and other national studies to give a truly objective and comprehensive overview. It remains essential reading for practising paediatric oncologists and other specialists involved in the day to day care of children with cancer.
