Description

The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 is the first U.K. statute to tackle discrimination against disabled people. It gives the U.K.'s 6.5 million disabled people legally enforceable rights not to be discriminated against by employers, or by the providers of goods, facilities, services or premises. The new provisions are likely to be of immense practical significance to employers and service providers. This book contains: * Full text of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, and of the regulations issued under the Act * Detailed section-by-section commentary analysing and explaining the 1995 Act, and critically assessing the practical implications of the new law * The full text of the two codes of practice issued under the Act on the definition of disability * The full text of the two codes of practice issued under the Act on the elimination of discrimination in the field of employment and on rights of access to goods, facilities, services and premises
