Description and Table of Contents

Description

This text examines the basic functions of MHC molecules that provide the foundation for antigen recognition by T-lymphocytes. Particular focus is placed on the cell biology and biochemistry of antigen processing mechanisms, which convert protein antigens to complexes of entigenic peptides and MHC molecules, which are required for stimulation of T-lymphocytes. The major pathways of antigen processing are reviewed, and other alternate antigen processing mechanisms that contribute under certain circumstances are also examined. Standing orders placed before December 31, 1996 will receive a 10% discount off the list price of all volumes published within the series between the order date and December 31 1997. This offer is on firm order basis only.
