Description

This work examines how to improve the achievement of school children in Brazil, and increase the overall efficiency of the educational system. It assesses the country's low educational levels, examining the barriers to educational reform. The author links Brazil's macroeconomic reforms, and continuing economic growth, with a more highly skilled and better educated workforce, thus the reform of the nation's education system is seen as as much an economic as a social issue.
