This book is intended to help students embarking on their professional courses by going over those aspects of basic accounting which tend to create difficulties, either because the material has been forgotten or because it has not been covered in the necessary depth at undergraduate level. It does so in a concise a manner as possible and places a great deal of emphasis on the development of a methodology for approaching each type of question covered. It is intended to supplement the traditional core reading or study manuals rather than replace them. The coverage of each topic commences with a simple description of the problem and an overview of the approach which will be taken to its solution. As the chapter progresses, the techniques are illustrated by worked examples. Each chapter contains several practice questions for readers to attempt, along with full solutions. It is designed for students taking ACCA, CIMA, ICAS and ICAI courses.
