This text seeks to provides a window onto a major aspect on the internal workings of UNEP's environmental programme in the wider Caribbean. It contains a description of the macro-institutional operations of the programme, but its main purpose is to provide a clear and lucid account of measures that have been adopted, as well as those that still required, to deal effectively with the increasing threat of pollution of the Caribbean sea and Gulf of Mexico.
