内容説明
Originally published in 1978 with the sub-title, "The Failure of Foresight", this study systematically looks at a wide range of disasters. Barry Turner provides a theoretical basis for studying the origins of man-made disasters, bringing together relevant work based on a study of inquiries into accidents and disasters in Britain over an 11 year period. This second edition has been fully updated, with the inclusion of a final chapter covering more recent events, a task that was completed by Nick Pidgeon.
