Hypertension in pregnancy is a major cause of maternal and foetal mortality and morbidity throughout the world. The condition presents itself in different ways and there are multiple approaches to the management of the condition. At first assessment, there would appear to be little agreement in therapeutic regimes. This book aims to produce a consensus view of the aetiology, classification and management of all types of hypertension in pregnancy from throughout the world. It is the degree of agreement rather than the differences that are the most interesting and useful. The chapters describe current thoughts on aetiology, different modes of presentation and the therapeuric protocols from many of the top workers in the area from Europe, USA, Africa and Australia.
