Description

Acts of arson, theft and vandalism committed in and around educational establishments, have increased in recent years. The Department of Education and Science has produced a series of publications called "Crime Prevention in Schools" which advises on security measures. This bulletin gives guidance to those who are considering installing closed circuit TV surveillance systems. It also provides information to those responsible for the design, specification, operation, maintenance and management of such systems in educational establishments. Two case studies are included and elemental costs are given to allow estimates to be made.
