Description and Table of Contents
Description
"Landeskunde", or the study of contemporary Germany, is now a major component of virtually all German studies courses, normally beginning in the first year and continuing throughout the degree. The aim is to give students a thorough understanding of German society, politics, economy and culture. This dictionary offers much information and offers to help students with contemporary terminology, especially that connected with the social sciences. It has been designed in particular to help users in following current affairs in the broadcast and print media. The dictionary also contains cross-referencing, allowing for follow-up browsing after initial research.
