内容説明
Recent discussions of the female body in early modern England have tended to concentrate on woman's reproductive capacities, unsurprisingly enough because the ability to conceive and bear children defined and delimited her social and cultural roles. This book suggests these discourses contain anxiety concerning female sexuality and its role in social, familial, and political relationships.
