内容説明

This volume provides a clinically relevant overview of the potential therapeutic applications of neurotrophic factors. Synthesizing data from basic science research, preclinical trials and clinical trials, the authors explain what the different neurotrophic factors are and what these factors can realistically do to ameliorate various neurological disorders. The opening chapter describes the different neurotrophic factors and their biological functions. The second discusses the key issues in the clinical use of these factors, and a major portion of the book focuses on special clinical disorders for which particular neurotrophic factors are being investigated. The final chapter explores various methods for administering neurotrophic factors to the central nervous system.
