内容説明
Embracing the BS 5950 code of practice on steelwork design, this book is a fully fledged teaching text, covering the basic theory and principles of limit states steelwork design. Starting from a description of material behaviour and basic concepts of structural design, it takes the reader progressively through the subject. Topics covered include the behaviour and design of all the main components of steel structures, including members, connections and their interaction in complete frames. New chapters in this edition deal with Composite Construction and Design for Fire, according to the principles of the recently published Parts 3.1 and 8 respectively of BS 5950. Additionally, modifications have been made to the first six chapters to bring them fully in line with the 1990 version of Part 1 of BS 5950. Although intended primarily as a student text, with worked examples, problems for further practice and references to additional reading, much of the material should also be suitable for practitioners wishing to acquaint themselves with the methods of BS 5950.
