Description

In instances of non-compliance of rules and regulations from Brussels there are a number of remedies available to individuals and organizations. The 1996 beef crisis has also highlighted the need for effective remedies at both government and individual level when a breach of EU law is suspected. The Inter-Governmental Conference in 1996 should also keep interest high. This text covers the areas of importance to European law practitioners and academics, with the rights of individuals becoming increasingly important. It includes contributions examining the question and effectiveness of remedies from the Italian, Swedish and French perspectives. The book also looks at examples of remedies at work in certain sectors, such as sex discrimination, environment and education. The contributors include: S. Prechal; A. Arnull; F. Jacobs, QC; G. De Burca; E. Sharpston; Orif L. Neville Browne, OBE; E. Szyszczak; G.E. Tickle; M. Johnson; C. Tyler; D. Chalmers; and A. Biondi.
