Description and Table of Contents
Description
This course is based on a collection of authentic, varied and lively texts. It aims: to develop student's abilities in the four skills, but with a special focus on speaking; to encourage students to participate in classroom activities and express personal opinions; to guide learners towards a correct use of the different types of English associated with the major language functions. "Themes" is for students who are preparing for the "Cambridge Certificate of Profeciency in English" or an equivalent public examination; for students following an advanced English Language course at secondary school or university; or for students doing short intensive courses. "Themes" is organised into 30 weel-illustrated study units. The reading and listening sections lead in to communicative oral/aural work and suggestions for written tasks are included. Listening material forms and integral part of 10 of the units. Tapescripts and a key are provided at the back of the book.
