内容説明

This book shows how to convert a control idea into a realistic project proposal. It provides a framework for economic and financial analysis to evaluate process control projects. Readers see the basic tools of cost and benefit analysis presented, and then applied. Some calculation procedures are presented, but no math beyond algebra is required: the emphasis is on reasonableness, not precision. The book discusses ways to evaluate risk and uncertainty and to incorporate risk factors into the analysis. A process plant example is studied that includes significant technological risk. Engineers, managers, consultants, sales personnel, and others who prepare and review project proposals will benefit from this volume. (Volume in ILM Series) Contents: Benefit Identification Benefit Estimation Cost Estimation Project Evaluation Detailed Example (Ammonia Plant Control) Costs Including Risks Benefits Including Risks Evaluation Including Risks Strategies for Risk Minimization Detailed Example (Sulfur Burner Control).
