One in ten couples in the UK experience problems with conceiving a child. Assisted reproduction or in vitro fertilization (IVF) techniques have been developed over the last 13 years to provide help for some of these sub-fertile couples. More recently, micromanipulation techniques have been used successfully to achieve fertilization in patients not helped by normal IVF. This book brings together the most recent advances in micromanipulation techniques from internationally renowned IVF centres and discusses the technical, legal and ethical considerations of work on the human embryo.
