Description and Table of Contents
Description
A volume which aims to present wide-ranging coverage of the subject of prevention of mental illness. Contributions from an international team discuss theoretical aspects of mental health promotion and prevention together with their application within the framework of primary current mental health policies and research initiatives. The book covers the role of guidelines as a tool for prevention and health promotion, their construction and evaluation. It examines different options for deploying resources within primary care and the division of labour between doctors, nurses, social workers, counsellors and other primary care teams. It also explores the external resources available to the primary care team such as voluntary groups and social services, and the implications for the education of primary care teams.
