Description and Table of Contents
Description
This volume contains 35 present ations on the developments and advances made in tribology. The first five plenary sessions, discussed issues of significant importance to modern tribology: history of tribology in the 20th century; the question of lubrication by very thin oil films under immense pressures; the wear of metals; the relationship of future tribological research to real industrial problems; and a survey of the currrent understanding of the molecular and atomic origins of friction and boundary lubrication.
