Description
"Television and Gender Representation" presents a comprehensive, up-to-date review of research into the way the sexes are depicted on television. It examines the way in which men and women are portrayed on television and in advertisements and provides an account of the impact this has upon children and adult viewers. Even with the expansion of audio-visual media, gender stereotyping still occurs with new television-related media, such as music videos. "Television and Gender Representation" also explores the representation of gender via the depiction of sexual behaviour in mainstream and pornographic audio-visual materials.
