Description

At a time when increasing pressures are being placed on health care budgets, this book provides a comparative evaluation of health promotion. Health promotion activities are both compared with other health care activities and given economic evaluation individually. Establishing a basis for the economic evaluation, this study explores the methodological issues of relevence to health promotion agencies in formulating future strategies. References are made to published studies, drawn from a number of health promotion areas, in order to consider the direction of future developments in health promotion.
