Description
Miniature, catheter-based ultrasound transducers are now being used in clinical studies in a variety of lumina throughout the body. This book covers the subject of endoluminal ultrasound in all its aspects, including its historical development, physical principles, instrumentation and technical considerations, as well as a variety of vascular and non-vascular clinical applications. The contributors are recognized leaders in this new field, and include radiologists, urologists, gastroenterologists, cardiologists and physicists. The main goal of this work is to convey to the reader new ideas and potential clinical applications with use of this new imaging modality.
