Description and Table of Contents
Description
This is an account of a great period in growth of political ideas which discusses all the important thinkers and publicists who were active at the time of the great revolution. The emphasis of this text is the period, 1645-1660, when Hobbes, the Leveller leaders and Winstanley were active. The book also discusses other writers who, although influential at the time, have since been neglected, and relates the motives of these men to the underlying causes of the age. Also included are discussions of Milton, Walwyn, Overton, Harrington and Filmer.
