内容説明
Reform efforts in general and special education have, for the most part, proceeded separately-even though they are related in many fundamental ways. Curriculum Trends, Special Education, and Reform: Refocusing the Conversation analyzes the relationship between the two reform efforts-bringing together for the first time the thinking of leaders in all curriculum areas about current trends with that of special educators who have been considering the role of those trends in special education. They argue that the reform agenda must address the needs of all students, and present practical suggestions for uniting special and general educators around curriculum issues at both classroom and district level. A text like this has long been sorely needed in pre- and in-service courses in curriculum, school reform, foundations, and administration, and graduate courses in cognitive development and curriculum, learning disabilities, education of the behaviorally disordered, and program development for the mildly handicapped, as well as by curriculum specialists, staff developers, administrators, policymakers, and special educators.
