This text features 20 buildings and projects by the Dutch architect Erick van Egeraat. Demonstrating his acute feeling for the richness of spatial experience, sensual materials, light, form and colour, the monograph offers a comprehensive picture of Egeraat's realized and projected works, including apartment buildings for Amsterdam, Stuttgart, Dortmund and Dresden; the Park Hotel and the Museum for Natural History in Rotterdam; the Laboratory for Physics and Astronomy in Leiden; a bank building in Budapest; the municipal art gallery in Cork; and the designs for town squares in Groningen and Stuttgart. Deyan Sudjic, the architectural critic, contributes six texts which seek to define Erick van Egeraat's oevre, and sharpen the reader's appreciation of his subtle complexities.
