内容説明
This text/workbook plus CD-ROM package aims to promote active learning and problem-solving in human geography. Each of the 13 chapters in this workbook-style text begins with pedagogy, text and visuals that focus on core concepts in human geography, then launches the student and instructor into a flexible, multi-part activity that requires students to "do" geography as a social science, instead of simply reading a series of facts. The text can be used as a stand-alone that covers the core concepts in human geography. It can also be used as a supplemental text for those who want to add more "hands-on" experience to the classroom setting. Activities on CD-ROM expose students to GIS, spreadsheets, simulation, and graphing without having to learn different software packages. The book provides both qualitative and quantitative research methods, giving students a variety of learning avenues, and exercises should foster problem-solving and interpretation of results.
