This issue from the "Social Europe" series reviews the progress made between July 1993 and June 1995, in the field of social policy. This period saw the adoption by the EU of a medium-term social action programme, a summary of which is provided. Areas covered include: the White Paper on growth, competitiveness and employment; the protection of young people at work; equal pay for women and men; works councils; and judgements of the Court of Justice of the European Communities.
