Description

This is a study of the Bloomsbury set and its female members. The women focused on include Virginia Woolf, Vanessa Bell, Dora Carrington, Vita Sackville-West, Lydia Lopokova, Katherine Mansfield and Angelica Garnett. Their writings, letters, diaries and memoirs provide accounts of friendship, love, art, jealousy, suicide, gossip and day-to-day affairs over 40 years. The book also traces the Bloomsbury group from its beginnings to the old age of its founders, and aims to give new insight into the lives of these women.
