"Hindus of the Himalayas" is an ethnographic study of a village in the Himalayas, India. In this edition the author adds two new sections - a prologue, "Behind Many Masks: Ethnography and Impression Management", and an epilogue, "Sirkanda Ten years Later". The focus is on the trends found in the village and in the region, as well as on drawing implications for the country at large.
