Description
Coal remains a plentiful fuel world-wide. Emerging clean coal technologies for power generation include combined cycles with coal gasification. However, new developments in materials are now allowing steam plant operating temperatures up to 600 grades C. These developments offer significant opportunities for the construction of advanced fossil fired steam plant, which is environmentally acceptable and has improved thermal efficiency, whilst at the same time retaining a high level of reliability. The papers presented in this volume cover the essential areas of: steam turbines, materials for steam turbines, boilers, materials for boilers, emerging technologies, and plant operation. This important international conference features contributions from the leading countries in the installation of advanced plants for electricity generation. "Advanced steam plant" will be of great value to those directly involved in, and associated with: power generation; the supply of power station equipment; power station planning, design installation, operation, and management; steam plant manufacture, development, and design; and materials development and application.
