Description and Table of Contents

Description

This atlas of the world contains 60 large-scale maps. The physical features of each region and the oceans are accurately highlighted and each map conveys up-to-the-minute political, social and cultural detail, as well as showing key buildings, transportation systems, and flora and fauna examples, through more than 1100 colour photographs and artworks. Major revisions include updated population figures throughout, information on the new flags, and various text changes. A gazetteer provides alternative historical and linguistic place names, and sites of cultural, historical and environmental interest. The atlas is validated by the Royal Geographical Society.
