内容説明
This practical guide shows the average sewer how to turn basic scraps of fabric into cushions. An expensive sewing machine is not necessary - all the cushions are made with straight stitch and a zigzag finish. A short introduction is followed by general decorating guidelines and hints with illustrated lessons in basic cushion make-up. Each cushion style is then described, accompanied by a colour photograph. The introductory section gives advice on fabric and trim selection and colour combinations. It describes the various cushion and pillow shapes, which inserts are appropriate, and answers questions such as whether you should fasten the cushion with a zip or velcro. For the avid embroiderers there are more original Kaye Pyke designs for embellishing cushions - or anything. Double page spreads of decorator photographs show cushions in contrasting styles. There are cushions using Kaye Pyke's special effects, such as putting a satin picture in the middle of a cushion, or a piece of tapestry, or a piece of hand-painted enamel. Like Kaye Pyke's "Elegant Embroidery", this is a practical book of ideas presented in coffee-table style.
