Description
Padre Giambattista Martini was one of the dominating musical personalities of the 18th century. His correspondence with musicians from all of Europe's most important courts and music centers illumines the musical life of his time.Until now no attempt has been made to index, translate and annotate his correspondence housed in the Civico Musco Bibliographico Musicale in Bologna. This archive consists of 5878 entries in all, over five thousand letters to himfrom almost one thousand persons and more than six hundred drafts of his answers.
