Description and Table of Contents

Description

This edited volume emphasizes trends in the development of polymer science for the future. The present decade is dominated by the development of functional and specialty polymers and the tailor-making of specific new compositions. As a consequence, overlapping areas are developing between polymer science and the life sciences, energy development and computer engineering. The papers presented in this volume discuss these emerging trends. Topics covered include engineering new proteins, chemically active and biologically specific polymers, polymer photochemistry perspectives and promises, photoinitiated reactions of organic polymers, new designs for conductive polymers, polymer science and membrane biology.
