内容説明

This hands-on and practical book is designed as a textbook for courses in Leadership in Continuing and Distance Education in Higher Education and an operational handbook for practitioners in this fast growing field. With the society, both global and national, moving into the Information Age, there is a major trend for adults, ages 22-75 plus, to go back to school; however, there is very little education for leadership in this field. Leadership in Continuing and Distance Education in Higher Education meets the needs of those teaching courses in the field as well as those administering and staffing programs. Providing the framework needed for successful continuing education efforts in higher education - a combination of knowledge in management, marketing, and academia, this book can be used as a graduate textbook or by practitioners. It is written from an applied approach to support the education and training required to plan, implement, operate, and evaluate continuing education programs. Also contained in the book are chapters on expenditure analysis and revenue planning, promotional processes and motivating staff and faculty. Cynthia J. Shoemaker has 23 years of experience in the field of Continuing Education at several institutions of higher education.
